If the patient has no dose (valid shot) on record, recommendation is Conditional with reason code HIGH_RISK.

CVX Code Specific Rules

• The Live Vaccine Interval rule is not enforced for evaluation of Orthopoxvirus - May 2022 EUA, but is considered for the forecast date.^{1

Series Selection Rules

There are two series for this vaccine group: the Monkeypox the Mpox 2-Dose Series and the Monkeypox the Mpox 1-Dose Series. The rules for determining which series applies are:

• If a CVX 75 or CVX 105 dose is administered for dose 1, the Orthopoxvirus 1-Dose Series (May 2022 EUA) applies.

• If a CVX 206 dose is administered for dose 1, the Orthopoxvirus 2-Dose Series (May 2022 EUA) applies. 

• If a CVX 75 or CVX 105 is administered on the same day as a Valid CVX 206 for target dose 1, the Orthopoxvirus 2-Dose Series (May 2022 EUA) applies.
  • Evaluate the CVX 75 or CVX 105 as Invalid with reason code DUPLICATE_SAME_DAY.

Series Special Rules 

Series Evaluation Special Rules

• The series is complete after 2 doses.

• Recommend CVX 206 at the vaccine level for target dose 2.

• If the 2nd shot is administered below the minimum interval or live virus interval, evaluate the shot as Valid with reason code SUPPLEMENTAL_TEXT and descriptive text: “The interval between this dose and the prior shot is less than the minimum interval. The dose does not need to be repeated unless the patient is severely immunosuppressed, in which case the repeated dose should be administered after the dose given in error by at least 28 days.”

• If an additional shot is administered after the series is complete, evaluate it as Valid. Evaluate all additional shots afterwards as Accepted / EXTRA_DOSE.
