Rules Based on Patient's Age
- If the patient is >= 105 days old (i.e., >= 15 weeks old) and has not received any doses of rotavirus vaccine, then the Recommendation is Not Recommended and the reason code is TOO_OLD_TO_INITIATE (new recommendation code).
- If the patient is >= 105 days old (i.e., >= 15 weeks old) when dose 1 is administered, dose 2 is still recommended, unless the patient is currently > 8 months 0 days, or will be > 8 months 0 days on the recommended date due.
- If the patient is currently > 8 months 0 days, or will be > 8 months 0 days on the recommended date due, then the Recommendation is Not Recommended and the reason code is TOO_OLD.
- If the patient is > 8 months of age on the date of administration, then the Evaluation is Accepted and the reason code is ABOVE_REC_AGE_SERIES.
- Shots administered to a patient > 8 months of age do not count toward completion of the series; the series can NOT be completed once the patient is > 8 months old.
