CDS Framework Base License
NYC DOHMH owns the copyright for both the ICE Web Service and the following CDS Framework plugins - Core, CDS, Rule, and ICE. NYC DOHMH has open-sourced this software under the terms of the GNU Lesser General Public License (LGPL) version 3. LGPL is one of several standard open source licenses that are commonly used by open source software projects. For legal guidance consult an attorney. A few of the most notable aspects of this license include the following:
- Software that is released under the LGPL may be freely integrated with any other software (including proprietary and commercial software). Integrating LGPL software (including the ICE Web Service or CDS Administration Tool) with any other 3rd party software, does not impact the copyright of that 3rd party software.
- Anyone may freely modify LGPL software. However, all modifications to LGPL software (including the ICE Web Service or CDS Administration Tool) must be freely shared with the open source community.
- No fees or royalties are charged for utilizing, integrating with, modifying, or distributing software that is released under LGPL.
- There is no warranty for software released under LGPL.
