  • February 4, 2026 - New Release of ICE - Version 2.53.1

    • A new release of ICE is available - Download the latest ICE release now.

    • Version 2.53.1 includes the following updates:

      • COVID-19 Seasonal: Addressed an issue in limited circumstances where ICE was enforcing a 24-day absolute minimum interval from a prior season invalid Pfizer to a new season target dose rather than a 17-day interval.

        • Improved vaccine group inclusion/exclusion options in the application.yml file or via environment variable. Specifically:

          • An ICE instance can be configured with a full list of vaccine groups to support via the inclusion property, or via the exclusion property, all vaccine groups not to support.

    • The ICE Implementation Guide and ICE Implementation Guide Codes sheet has been updated to reflect updates related to the new vaccine groups, including vaccine, vaccine group, series, and supplemental text additions. • June 27, 2025 - New Release of ICE - Version 2.47.1

    • A new release of ICE is available - Download the latest ICE release now.

    • Version 2.47.1 includes the following updates:

      • Hepatitis A: Modified the series selection rules to limit selection of the 3-dose series to when CVX 104 (Twinrix) is administered to an adult patient as dose 1 and/or dose 2; when Twinrix is not used, ICE will evaluate and forecast in the 2-dose series, where a 6-month interval is required between doses. Added absolute minimum ages and absolute maximum ages to Hepatitis A vaccines; the addition of the absolute maximum age will invalidate pediatric formulations of the vaccines when given to patients 19 years and older, in line with recommendations to repeat the dose. Modified the 2-dose series and the 3-dose series.

      • Hib: Updated the booster dose handling of CVX 50 in the Hib OMP series.

        • Lowered PCV20 allowable age for the childhood series.

        • For the zip file distribution only: added property setting in ice.properties, disable_output_earliest_and_overdue_dates_for_pneumococcal_adult_series. If set to "Y", ICE will not output the earliest and overdue dates for the Adult Pneumococcal Series. By default, this setting is disabled.

      • Polio: Updated the CVX 02 name to “OPV, trivalent” and updated the CVX 89 name to Polio, unspecified formulation (NOS) (no logic changes).

      • RSV: Updated recommendation for patients age 8 - < 20 months old who completed their infant series from Conditional / HIGH_RISK to Conditional / COMPLETE_HIGH_RISK; this supports identification of children in this age range who completed the RSV infant series as compared to those who did not.

      • General Rule: Live Vaccine Interval: Update to ensure enforcement of a 28-day absolute minimum interval between MMRV and another live vaccine.

      • The next ICE release (v2.44.1/v1.44.1) is anticipated by early September. This release will address COVID-19 updates to support the additional dose recommendation for adults ages 65 years and older. This is expected to be the last v1 release.

    • As always, we continue to monitor updates to immunization recommendations. We will work to incorporate anticipated updated COVID-19 recommendations for the 2024-2025 season into ICE in a timely manner.

    • If you have any questions, comments, or suggestions, please reach out to us at ice@hln.com.

  • July 17, 2024 - Upcoming Transition to ICE v2

    • In addition to ongoing work to ensure ICE alignment with ACIP recommendations, we've also been working on core updates to the ICE service. We will soon release ICE v2.43.1, a production-ready transition release that updates the ICE service to Java 17, Spring v6, OpenCDS v6, and Tomcat 10. This release will be functionally equivalent to release v1.43.1.

    • Since ICE runs in a variety of environments, we suggest you plan to complete additional testing to ensure there are no issues with your installation/with running v2.43.1 in your environment. Release v1.43.1 will continue to be available in case you encounter challenges.

    • For subsequent releases over the short term, we will continue to have two versions of ICE available: v1, which runs on Java 8, and a functionally equivalent v2 with the core updates. We welcome your testing feedback to ensure ICE users can successfully transition to v2.

    • If you have any questions, comments, or suggestions, please reach out to us at ice@hln.com.

  • June 21, 2024 - New Release of ICE - Version 1.43.1

      • Influenza: Added support for CVX 320, Influenza, MDCK, trivalent, preservative.

    • Upcoming Releases:

      • An ICE software upgrade to Java 17, OpenCDS v6, and Tomcat 10. The Java 17/Tomcat10 will ultimately replace the current Java 8/Tomcat 9 version and a test version will be available in July. So that users have time to test the new Java 17/Tomcat 10 version in their environments, the ICE team will provide both Java 17/Tomcat 10 and Java 8/Tomcat 9 versions for a couple of releases before fully deprecating the Java 8/Tomcat 9 version entirely.
