The Immunization Calculation Engine (ICE) is a free, open-source immunization forecasting software system. It has two major components:

  • The ICE Web Service, which runs in OpenCDS, evaluates a patient's immunization history, and generates the appropriate immunization recommendations for the patient
  • CAT, a web-based UI tool that enables subject matter experts to manage immunization algorithms with little or no intervention from software developers

  • /wiki/spaces/CAT/pages/15007796- The Clinical Decision Support (CDS) plugin contains the CDS Data Manager and the OpenCDS Manager. The CDS Data Manager, as titled, contains supporting coded values,  e.g., HL7 codes, Evaluation and Recommendation codes, comparison operator lists, value sets, etc., that are used by other plugins and their modules.
  • /wiki/spaces/CAT/pages/15007804- The Rule plugin, and its Rule Manager, include context-aware, sentence templates; these "sentences" can be combined to create complex CDS rules.
  • /wiki/spaces/CAT/pages/14352553- This plugin focuses specifically on clinical decision support for immunizations (CDSi). This plugin's ICE Manager allows subject matter experts to manage CDSi-specific supporting data, such as the minimum and recommended ages within a series, and tests.
  • /wiki/spaces/CAT/pages/15007806- This plugin is used by the SHARPS DS2 project.
  • /wiki/spaces/CAT/pages/13860933- The Core plugin, and its CAT Manager, allows CAT administrators to manage application configuration, user accounts, and security.
SHARPS DS2 -- Decision Support for Data Segmentation -- is prototype software that utilizes OpenCDS, an open source Clinical Decision Support (CDS) framework, to identify and redact selected conditions from clinical summary documents in an HIE environment. The DS2 software includes a suite of related tools for creating, importing, and editing Continuity of Care (CCD) documents; testing redacted CCDs; and converting CCDs to Virtual Medical Record (vMR) format. The software also includes a web-based "inference analyzer" for visualizing the effectiveness and the impact of probabilistic redaction.
